Dear Friend,

As we begin a new year, I want to address one of the most important goals you can have when it comes to your health—sticking with your daily supplement routine.

The top reason people don’t get the results they expect from supplements is because they don’t take the recommended amount on a regular basis. Whenever you see a dosage or usage recommendation, it’s based on clinical research—the science that proves which amount and form of a nutrient yields the best results.

It’s simple, yet tremendously important: If you want results, take your supplements as directed. Need more proof? Read this:

  • Divided doses ensure nutrient levels remain constant in your bloodstream for ongoing, 24-hour support.

  • Some key nutrients, like vitamin B12, become significantly harder to absorb as we age.

  • Certain over-the-counter and prescription drugs deplete our natural, necessary stores of nutrients. For example, cholesterol-lowering statin drugs rob the body of CoQ10—a nutrient critical for heart health.

  • Even recommended exercise increases free-radical activity in your body. That’s why you need a full dose of antioxidants throughout each day.

  • Alcohol can interfere with the absorption, storage, and metabolism of nutrients. So even if you enjoy only the occasional glass of wine, taking key nutrients consistently will keep you covered.

  • Many nutrients need time to build up in your system for full effectiveness. This is especially true with joint and vision nutrients such as glucosamine and lutein. To get optimal results, they must be taken as directed daily.

  • For people in the Northern Hemisphere producing adequate levels of vitamin D during the winter months is difficult and you require sufficient levels year-round to stay healthy.

  • Recommended Daily Intakes (RDIs) cover the bare minimums. For optimal health, it’s important to maintain higher levels of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and phytonutrients.

Remembering to take your supplements can be a challenge. That’s why I want to share some helpful tips and tricks with you. These suggestions come from people who have turned their health and their lives around—all by taking the recommended doses of their supplements each and every day.

Use a Paper Cup
“I use a paper cup. After I have taken my supplements, I turn the cup upside down. If the cup is right side up, I know I haven’t taken them yet.” — Bev Phillips

Keep Them by the Coffee Cup
“I keep my vitamins in the kitchen cabinet by my coffee cup which is the first place I go in the mornings. I’m sure to see them there.” — Don Poppenhager

Use a Sectioned Box
“Every few weeks I prepare three weeks worth of vitamins which I put into a sectioned box meant for nuts and bolts that I purchased in a hardware store.”
— Leonard Zimmerman

I Keep a Timer in My Pocket
“I keep a timer in my pocket, when the timer goes off I know it is time to take the next batch of pills. (Or, if your watch has an alarm, simply set that!)” — Anonymous

Use Empty Film Bottles
“We use empty film bottles. I label them B, L, or D for the three meals and use a marker to color code the top ring for each person. These are simple to throw in a purse or lunch bag—and they’re free!” — Joan Carlson

Keep a Chart
“I keep a sectional chart (name of pill and time taken). This chart is fastened on the fridge which faces the work area, up close, so there is NO WAY I can forget.” — Edna Nadine Hronchak

Try an Empty Egg Carton
“An empty egg carton works well for setting out several days’ worth of supplements.” — Anonymous

Use a Calendar
“I take those little red calendars that realtors send every Christmas season. When I take my supplements in the morning I check the top of the little box with the date in it and in the evening I check the bottom of the little box with the date in it.” — S. Lee

You can, without a doubt, achieve optimal health using nutritional therapies—I’ve been watching it happen for decades. Just keep taking your supplements as directed each day and I guarantee great results.

Here’s to your health,
